Location
The Australian coastline comes alive every year with the migration of Humpback Whales travelling past our shoreline. Join this 90 minute whale watching cruise from Shell Cove to catch a rare glimpse of these majestic creatures as they enter warm Australian waters.
During the Northern migration pattern, you’ll travel further out in the ocean to witness the busy Humpback Whales heading towards sub-tropical waters to mate and give birth. On the Southern migration, you’ll be treated to a closer glimpse of the parents and their newborn calves that hover closer to shore as they teach and nurse their young ones on the journey back to Antarctica.
Don’t forget to mark your calendars. Whale watching cruises are available from May to November. You won’t want to miss out on this extraordinary experience.

- Please meet at The Salty Squid. Cafe is located at 9 Marina Drive Shell Cove
- Check in is 30 minutes before departure time. Boarding starts 15 minutes prior to departure
- Please do not be late as vessels must depart on time

- Should you suffer from motion of the ocean, please take a tablet, as we do not provide this medication
- This experience is not recommended for women that are more than 24 weeks pregnant
- This experience is not recommend for people with back injuries
- This experience runs with a minimum of two passengers and maximum of 48 passengers
- If wind and sea conditions are not favourable, the experience provider will notify customers via mobile phone number provided on their booking or email. Customers can reschedule to another day
- We recommend warm clothing to be warm as it can be cool out in the open waters, and non slip footwear

“ Brilliant Thursday 12th Oct. Greeted on arrival, every detail explained and a fabulous ride out on the ocean. My wife absolutely loved the fast ride out! Carmen and Brett were fantastic. Carmen always checked we were okay and informed us and every guest of the up-to-date details of the trip. In close observation of the seals on Five Islands. Then whale sightings, a calf and a few other humpbacks cruising down the coast. A few breaches, but only one was caught on camera. Go again, thoroughly recommend it.
