Location
Experience the best views of Byron Bay from the air with an awesome hang gliding experience over cape Byron! The sport of hang gliding is as exciting as it is fun and we are able to share a tandem hang gliding flight in Byron Bay with you to enjoy the excellent soaring conditions found around Lennox Headland Reserve and the Byron Bay National Park. Feel the thrill of soaring gracefully through the sky as you get truly epic views of the coastline including the iconic Cape Byron Lighthouse and much more.
The flight is with your instructor and is an introductory tandem flight which lasts for 30 minutes. You are joined up as a HGFA member which gives you trainee membership an allows you to enjoy a tandem flight with third party liability insurance for a further 4 months if you wish to take more flights or lessons. Before launching with your instructor, you will be given a briefing and explanation on and about hang gliding, it's as easy as that. Whilst soaring in your hang glider, keep an eye out for the popular Byron Bay dolphins, turtles or white breasted sea eagles, you may even see a humpback whale or two if the season is right.
Flights operate daily if the weather permits from Tallow Ridge at Cape Byron Headland. Passengers are asked to wear light, comfortable clothing and footwear and are allowed to bring small cameras with hand straps on the flight.

Time
- On the day of your tandem flight YOU must contact the tour operator - Brian - and at approximately 9am call for a weather check to confirm a suitable time for soaring, you may also call him 24 hours earlier for a weather opinion

Terms And Conditions
- All paperwork including mandatory trainee membership to the HGFA, waiver and risk assumption and its agreement is signed; a parents or guardians permission is needed if the participant is under 18years.
- All flying is coordinated with the HGFA operations manual and your instructor will advise any flight restrictions and give a briefing about procedures and processes.
- A weight limit for participants is 90kg maximum
- Cancellation with in 24hours of the booked day incurs a 50% non refundable amount.
- Transport to and from the launch site at Cape Byron NP is available for free from the Byron * Bay town centre and back- some time constraints may apply on the day depending on the weather. If we are unable to fly because of the weather a full refund is given or a reschedule for another time can be rebooked. All vouchers must be presented on arrival or received before flying.

Had the best experience hang gliding with Brian! I took my boyfriend as a birthday surprise and he was not disappointed. We were both first-timers, me much more hesitant but both felt completely comfortable and relaxed throughout the flight. Such a beautiful way to see the amazing coast around Cape Byron, we even saw some whales! Will definitely be recommending to family and friends.

Really amazing experience! You have to contact the instructor to confirm and then on the morning of the activity they give you an idea of what time you'll be going, the only problem is that obviously, the weather isn't easily predictable so the time a sometimes day isn't predictable. He was a really good instructor and made the process easy. The actual experience was incredible, amazing views and feeling being above everything, saw a turtle and some sting rays from above as well. You get about 30 minutes in the air and it's all filmed (for a bit extra) but you can also bring a Go Pro which is a bonus. I would definitely recommend the activity to anyone! Worth the money!

Amazing. This experience was fantastic. Wonderful instructors who didn't just take you for a hang glide but taught you the basics and allowed you to take control of your experience, under their watchful eye. The scenery was breathtaking. I watched a pod of 40 odd dolphins playing in the waves and kangaroos grazing on the hilltop. I hear that whale migration season is a great time to go. I think I will be back in September!

We had the most amazing time. Brian was the most experienced and professional of people And approached the entire thing with an amazing fun attitude but with safety being the first priority. I have recommended your site for great adventures.

本当に楽しいです！離陸の瞬間の、体がぐんぐん上がっていく感覚は感動ものです。そのあとは目の前にどこまでも広がる海や、バイロンベイの有名な灯台など、最高の景色が楽しめます。上空での写真撮影もさせてもらえて、とてもいい記念になりました。 星ひとつ減らしたのは、途中で船酔いみたいになってしまって、早めの着地をお願いしたからです…酔いやすい方は、あらかじめ酔い止め薬を飲んでおくことをお勧めします!

Fantastic, the pilot was great, everything went really well from beginning to end. Totally magical. Would love to now take a course and get my own licence.
